Friday 4th – Sunday 6th April 2014

Queensland’s biggest 4×4 & outdoors show returns to the RNA Showgrounds from Friday 4th – 6th April 2014. Co-located again with the Brisbane Tinnie & Tackle Show, this event will be a one stop shop for those who love everything about 4wds, the outdoors, fishing and boating.

Brisbane Showground

The Brisbane Exhibition Ground (also known as the RNA Showgrounds and the Ekka Grounds), is a heritage-listed showground established in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia during 1875 especially for Ekka (formally titled the Royal Queensland Show). The Exhibition ground is owned and operated by The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland. The Ekka is a show held at the Brisbane Exhibition Ground over two weeks in August each year. Because the Ekka is only held over a two-week period each year, other displays and exhibitions are held at the Brisbane Exhibition Ground during the remainder of the year.

Getting to the Show

Located adjacent to the Brisbane CBD, Brisbane Showgrounds is bordered by Bowen Bridge Road, O’Connell Terrace, St Paul’s Terrace and Gregory Terrace at Bowen Hills. We are situated en-route to the Brisbane Domestic and International Airports, and are in easy reach of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

Featured Guests

Allan Gray – Outback Engineer

Terrain Tamer’s head engineer Allan Gray has been working on 4WD’s for almost 65 years. With a knowledge of Toyotas that spans back to the very first Land Cruiser brought into the country for the Snowy Mountain Hydro Scheme, Allan is an encyclopedia of all things 4WD related and loves nothing more than sharing his knowledge and how-to with fans and 4WDrivers around the country.

Carlisle Rogers – 4WD Touring

Carlisle Rogers has been travelling Australia’s outback tracks for over a decade, distilling
the essence of this red country into words and images.

In 2012 he founded 4WD Touring Australia, a monthly magazine and weekly television show devoted to the pursuit of Living the Dream: exploring the best destinations all around Australia and bringing them into the hearts and homes of readers and viewers.

Irwin Family

Steve was born into wildlife, growing up on the Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and helping his parents at the ‘Beerwah Reptile and Fauna Park’. Established in 1970, this two acre wildlife park was home to native wildlife such as Lace Monitors, Tiger Snakes, Freshwater Crocodiles, Magpie Geese and kangaroos. Many of the kangaroos were lined up in homemade pouches and cared for by Steve’s mum, Lyn. She was an extraordinary wildlife rehabilitator and was quite skilled in nursing injured and orphaned animals and sending them back to the wild.

ason Andrews – All 4 Adventure

Driving across Australia six times before his mid-20s gave Jason a passion for the region and a desire to share it with others.

His twenty years of experience, his love of Northern Australia and his determined attitude has led Jason to venture further into places where the average tourist would not go. All 4 Adventure is his outlet to film and share the expeditions as he savours every moment of the journey and gives the viewer access to the most hostile and remote destinations.

Pat Callinan – 4×4 Adventures

Pat Callinan grew up in outback Australia, at places as far flung as Brewarrina (back ‘o Bourke) and later on a cherry farm in Young NSW. He learned to drive in Holden Utes and a two-stroke LJ50 4WD with a very touchy clutch.

While studying Arts/Law at the University of New England, Pat took his ancient 1972 model 4WD across on a trip to Fraser Island. He didn’t make it back, getting stranded on rocks with an incoming tide. With the body ripped off the chassis as the vehicle was smashed by the waves, Pat took pictures while licking his wounds. He wrote a story about his misadventure for 4X4 Australia magazine, which they published.
